PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
Listed below are several professional associations which provide affiliation and support for the many landscape and horticultural professions. Many have web sites with public information. Most will require you be a member of the profession or in a closely related profession in order to be a member. Various organizations provide certification or licensing options to their members. Licensing is a verification that an individual/organization meets certain legal requirements (usually required by a State Board), while Certification is a verification that an individual/organization meets that organizations established criteria. |

California Lanscape Contractors Association
(CLCA

Professional organization of Landscape Contractors licensed in the State of California. Provides public information regarding contracting and landscaping issues. CLCA certifies, but does not license, members who meet established criteria. |

Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD)

Professional organization of landscape and garden designers. Links are available to the California chapter ( www.apldca.org ). Includes membership listing and some information of interest to the general public. APLD certifies, but does not license, members who meet established criteria. |

Professional organization of the California Nurseries and Garden Centers and affiliates. Information regarding plant selection and growth is provided. CANGC certifies, but does not license, members who meet established criteria. |
